Entry fees, drinks & VIP tables: what to budget

Plan the cost of the night and ask the right questions before agreeing to a guest list or table.

01

How much does a night out cost?

The supplied traveller reports often put regular entry between free and roughly ₩30,000, with table packages starting in the low hundreds of thousands of won. Treat these as planning estimates.

Some nights include a drink with admission; others charge separately. Guest-list deadlines, special line-ups, public holidays and arrival time can change the fee. A free-entry offer may still require a purchase.

Tables can range from a few hundred thousand won to much more, depending on venue, position, group size and bottle selection. Ask for the total in writing, including minimum spend, number of guests, taxes or service charges, deposit and cancellation terms. A headline “from” price may not cover your actual group.

The estimates on CIK’s place pages are not binding quotes. Confirm the current offer with the venue or promoter and keep a record of the agreement.

02

Are “free drinks” and “free entry” offers safe to accept?

Some offers are genuine, but clarify the conditions before entering, ordering or following someone to a second venue.

The briefing includes traveller reports of unexpected bills, purchase requirements and minimum-stay conditions after a free-drinks pitch. Those reports do not establish that all promoters or free-entry offers are scams.

Ask which drinks are included, whether a minimum purchase applies, when the offer ends and whether you can leave freely. Do not hand over your passport as a deposit or agree to a bill you have not seen. If an offer becomes uncomfortable, step away and choose another venue.

If you are threatened or prevented from leaving, seek help and contact the police on 112. Keep messages and receipts if you need to explain a disputed charge.
